The Verkh-Isetsky District Court of Yekaterinburg postponed to April 14, 2023 a hearing on the criminal case of Yevgeny Teterin, chairman of the Sverdlovsk branch of the Union of Paratroopers, accused of bribery on an especially large scale. Thus, the court granted the petition of Tatyana Merzlyakova, Commissioner for Human Rights in the Sverdlovsk Region, who pointed out that Yevgeny Teterin was her representative in the Donbass and should be in the zone of the special military operation.
Yevgeny Teterin, chairman of the Sverdlovsk regional branch of the Union of Russian Paratroopers, is accused of three episodes of mediation in bribery committed on an especially large scale (part 4 of article 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). A criminal case against him was opened in November last year. Together with him, the director of LLC “Uralshcheben” Vyacheslav Ivanov and the head of the Shabrovsky quarry Ibad Gurbanov were detained. The latter, according to the investigation, handed over to Yevgeny Teterin part of the bribe intended for an employee of the Federal Tax Service.
According to Kommersant-Ural, the defendants decided to give a bribe after the environmental damage in the amount of more than 400 million rubles was revealed in the activities of the enterprise for the development of subsoil in the Shabrovsky quarry. “Subsequently, Teterin had to transfer the money to another fixer, who, in turn, planned to give it to a representative of the supervisory authority,” a source in law enforcement agencies noted.
In March, Yevgeny Teterin was charged with new charges. It is about 3 million rubles, which were allegedly intended as a bribe to law enforcement officers for stopping the criminal prosecution of two acquaintances of the head of the Union of Paratroopers. . The defendant pleaded not guilty. The defense claims that in the incriminated cases he was returned parts of the debt, the total amount of which is 35 million rubles.
The criminal case against Yevgeny Teterin is being considered by the Verkh-Isetsky District Court of Yekaterinburg. The first hearing was to be held on December 6, but the accused did not appear in court. Judge Yulia Merkulova said that on November 10 he went to the zone of the special operation as a representative of the Ombudsman for Human Rights in the Sverdlovsk Region, Tatyana Merzlyakova.
The meeting was postponed to December 29. For his sake, Evgeny Teterin interrupted his trip to the Donbass and came to Yekaterinburg. At the same time, Tatyana Merzlyakova applied to the court with a request to extend the period of Yevgeny Teterin's business trip to the special operation zone for three months. She stated that the defendant in the Donbass performs the functions of the head of a mobile public reception.
