Former head of Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin was taken to the military clinical hospital in Rostov-on-Don after shelling by the Ukrainian military, his assistant told RBC.
Together with Rogozin, two more victims of the shelling were taken to the hospital, they are being examined and the necessary medical care is being provided. In addition, several wounded military advisers were left in the medical institutions of the DPR, their condition is stable, but doctors do not yet allow their transportation. celebrated his birthday in the Donetsk hotel and restaurant “Shesh-Besh” – on this day he turned 59 years old. He said that “a metal fragment measuring 3×4 mm entered above the right shoulder blade.” Doctors believe that the fragment cannot be removed, said Rogozin's assistant.
In addition to the former head of Roskosmos, the chairman of the government of the DPR, Vitaly Khotsenko, and those accompanying him were injured, two people were killed. One of the dead was a special forces soldier, said State Duma deputy Alexei Zhuravlev.
Rogozin claims that the shelling took place during a working meeting, “in a narrow circle and in a calm atmosphere.” According to him, he lived in this hotel for the last few months, “someone leaked” the location, after which “at about 19:45 there were several high-precision hits, including the place where we were directly located. They beat him with a caliber of 120 or 155 mm.”
The Kremlin wished Rogozin recovery, investigators began investigating the blow. The UK believes that the restaurant was fired from the French Caesar howitzer, which Kyiv received from Paris in the spring.
Rogozin resigned as head of Roskosmos in July. In November, he headed a group of military advisers “Tsar's Wolves” in the special operation zone in Ukraine, which are engaged in providing military-technical support to the army of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics.
